GiftWorks Poetry Anyone?

July 7, 2009

We were treated to a nice little GiftWorks poem courtesy of RSVP of Cleveland, a nonprofit organization dedicated to "improving lives and strengthening the greater Cleveland area through volunteerism and service." I hope you enjoy it!  Please visit their website:  http://www.rsvpcleveland.org/.

If there’s no money, you can’t meet your mission –
(For example, if you’re shedding donors due to attrition),
You need a way to reach them, to know what makes them tick,
And, ideally, you want to do this with as little as one click.

Excel spreadsheets and old paper files
(Whose trail, it seemed, went on for miles)
Are not the tools for fundraising success,
They’ll leave your staff with headaches and your office a mess.

With 3,200 volunteers – which is quite a lot,
Some of whom are donors and some of whom are not,
We needed a tool to help us discern
What we already knew and what we needed to learn.

With GiftWorks we’ve found a way to make clear
How our revenues have changed from year to year,
What’s been successful, and what’s not worth our while -
All at a price that made our Board smile.

We promote volunteering so as to make lives better,
We’re seeing increased need because of bad economic weather,
With GiftWorks, we can spend more time recruiting and placing,
And less of our time on computer interfacing.

Notes, tasks, SmartLists, and other stuff we use proficiently,
Keep our development office running efficiently,
Gets the money in the door so we can play our role
In making greater Cleveland a better place for all.

About The GiftWorks Team

The GiftWorks team is made up of hard working and caring individuals who have a heart for nonprofit organizations and a passion for making great software. For the past 7 years, our focus has been giving nonprofits the software and tools needed to accomplish their mission. Every day, the salespeople, software developers, customer support representatives, and every other member of the team work hard to get GiftWorks into the hands of nonprofits and help them to use GiftWorks to advance their cause, raise money, and accomplish their goals.

Many members of the GiftWorks team donate their time, effort, and other resources to nonprofits in Lancaster, PA and the surrounding area. We trust that our efforts, in cooperation with nonprofits around the world, can impact our generation and generations to come.
