Karen and I just returned from the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organization's annual conference. We were truly inspired by the passionate, professional and determined folks we met there. Many were from towns where textile industries that employed so many are just gone. All are dealing with increased demands for services and decreased funding from traditional sources.
Yet, the positivism and optimism was contagious. Their work has never been more critical and they are assertively looking to build and cultivate their community of supporters like never before. We are humbled and happy that GiftWorks is a critical part of this transformation for so many.
We met quite a few of our customers in person too, which is always wonderful. Here's me with our client Edwina Hoyle Executive Director of Memory Matters in Hilton Head (http://www.memory-matters.org/). Her organization is a center of excellence for persons with Alzhemier's and their families.
And I was also delighted to meet client Darlene Pitts, Community Support Coordinator of A Place for Hope in Rock Hill (www.aplaceforhope.net/index.html). They are a social service agency dedicated to meeting the needs of one of the poorest areas of South Carolina.
